Memories with Yahoo

Once Yahoo Defined Internet. As if yahoo is internet and internet is yahoo.
Yahoo is still one of my favourite website to check latest updates though relevant content related to national importance is getting less highlighted and its turning all about 15 rare pics, 11 habits, 10 foods and so on and celebrity gossips and less news in the slide banners . Also i visit yahoo to check if internet connectivity is there or not...!! And it's being sold out after several attempts to bring in profit is disappointing but i hope Verizon will take it to the new heights and it will not fade away.

When Internet was new to me and to the world Yahoo was the site i used most. It may be yahoo India page for reading news and updates or checking yahoo emails or the big one yahoo messenger. Yahoo messenger was such a craze at that time and i was not left out. In a world with no Facebook, Whatsapp - Yahoo Messenger rocked it. I had most of my friends on the yahoo messenger list and they are still today but no one is seen online and that includes me. I think i last used yahoo messenger over 2-3 years ago. I still receive a lot of emails on my yahoo id but they are only junks as like most of us i have shifted to Gmail but i still use yahoo id on some websites that i fear might spam me and i am ok if they do on my yahoo id.

I had made a lot of good friends on yahoo messenger that lived across the globe and all are almost lost and no more in contact apart from one or two whom i had added on Facebook. I used it for fun and sometimes even for my MBA entrance studies discussing global issues.

Yahoo is still alive as a brand in the billions of people who are are of my generation (I am 28) and older. and it has good potential if utilized properly and can bring good revenues. Yahoo still have a huge database though that is getting less useful each day as most have shifted to gmail.

I wish Verizon puts a lot of efforts and makes revenues and the brand "Yahoo" does not fade away.

Best wishes.
Thanks
